The WW2 liberty ship hatch cover table is restored from the wooden hatch cover captains sea desk of a U.S. Navy liberty ship which was used by the merchant marine during WWII.
These Liberty Ships were the mainstay in sending cargo and troops to all four corners of the world during the second world war.
The rate and speed of their production needed to be faster than the German submarines could sink them, so their was a very high attrition rate.
The wooden hatch cover nautical desks offered at the Pirates Lair came from the Liberty Ships which survived the war.
This hatch cover desk is also a great waterfront home nautical decor as a great gift idea for men, women, the merchant marine officer or Navy sailor.
