The photo to the left shows the standard 6 Piece Placesetting of Royal Norwegian Navy China pieces. This Royal Norwegian Naval China is produced by Porsgrund of Oslo, Norway as indicated in a green glaze on the bottom of the china pieces in a circular fashion surrounding a Naval Anchor. The production marks also have what appears to be Production Date Codes, but we have no way of interpreting these.

This Royal Norwegian Navy Dinnerware and fine china was used for both everyday dining as well as the more formal military "dining-in" ceremonies by Senior Norwegian Naval Officers, Norwegian Diplomat, and Norwegian Naval Attache's! It is an elegant and handsome Norwegian Tableware produced by the famous porzellan producer, Porsgrund of Oslo Norway.

The photo to the left shows a coffee cup with the beautifully detailed and elegant Norwegian Naval Insignia consisting of the King's Crown and Fouled Anchor as the topmark. This is a perfect illustration of the Naval insignia used on all Royal Norwegian Naval Dinnerware since the late 19th century!

Niether does the elegance of this fine china take away from it's masculinity which was always a concern of the naval officer and seafarer from any of the world's navies! The problem for the designer and producer was to provide elegant dinnerware befitting Kings, Queens, other Royalty and Heads of State without it being too elegant for the seafaring military.
