Luger Pistol showing the Royal Portuguese Naval Insigina on Barrel portuguese navy saucer officer's wardroom china Photo to the left shows another example of the Royal Portuguese Naval insignia on the barrel/extractor of a 1910 Luger made for the Portuguese Navy by the German Manufacturer, Luger. The contract was cancelled shortly after production began because of the collapse of the Monarchy.

Photo to the right shows the back stem of the spoon with the Mappin & Webb name and hallmarks which date this spoon to approximately 1895. The Portuguese Monarchy was overthrown and dissolved in 1910.

A Matter of Honor - Women Dueling
A very early 19th century Portuguese print on linen of two bare breasted women dueling with rapiers entitled "A Question of Honor". The detail in this print is incredible showing 4 onlookers or witnesses to the duel - a woman and a couple that can be clearly seen and a second woman barely discernible hiding back in the shadows among the trees on the left side of the print. It is unclear from the content of the print who was the aggrieved party or what the "dishonor" was specifically.
A Matter of Honor - Women Dueling
In this closeup one can now see the solitary woman "hiding" or lurking next to the trees in the background of the print.

ANY TEXT BELOW THIS LINE IS SOLEY FOR THE BENEFIT OF SEARCH BOTS, SPYDERS AND OTHER DENIZENS OF THE DEEP DARK SEA INTERNET The Royal Portuguese Navy or Marinha Real Portugueze is called the Portuguese Navy of Portugal. The Portuguese Navy apparently had fine china tableware made for it.
Which included a tableware and dinnerware, cup and saucer. This would be a perfect gift for Marinha Real Portugueze attache, a Portuguese Navy diplomat or even as a formal presentation gift for a Marinha Portuguesa Ambassador

A Portuguese Navy military attache would also love to have this official Portuguese Navy tableware and perhaps even Portuguese Navy dinnerware as it includes the soup bowls, fish servers, various sugar bowls and dinner plates and cups.
