Liberty Ship Hatch Cover Nautical Coffee Table #45: This authentic WWII Liberty Ship Wooden Hatch Cover Coffee Table is restored as a nautical coffee table in the standard construction of 3 pine planks, 2 metal bands on each end, 2 recessed metal hauling handles, and a recessed metal securing rod through the center.

This nautical coffee table is in exceptional condition, sanded smoother than typical and restored in a dark stain with a very light coat of polyeurethane for protection and decor. The trestle is available at customer choice! The perfect nautical furniture centerpiece or addition to your nautical home furnishings or as child proof standalone nautical coffee tables.

Whether it be one a Nautical Coffee Table, Nautical Table, Nautical Bench or Pew, or a Nautical Desk made from restored 60 year old WW2 Liberty Ship Hatch Wooden Hatch Covers you will be very pleased with both the quality and durability of this nautical furniture to add to your nautical decor. The above photo's show the nautical table/desk along with 2 other companion pieces - the bench and the pew, both made from the planks of WW2 Liberty Ship Hatch Covers. Sometimes we get these hatch covers where all we can salvage is one or two planks. As you know these hatch covers sailed the world over on our Merchant Marine Fleet of Liberty and Victory Ships during WW2 and afterwards some were decommissioned and put into what was called the "Moth Ball Fleets" stragetically placed around the country. Other Liberty Ships were sold to private shipping companies and given or sold to other countries where they saw service up until the 1960's. So as you can see these hatch covers have plenty of wear and tear from the oceans and seas they sailed upon.

BTW, these hatch covers are child proof! Nothing can destroy them! So if you are seeking a fine piece of authentic vintage nautical furniture which will take further use, and be turned into a family heirloom handed down from generation to generation then this is it!

Comes with our exclusive Handcrafted Nautical Trestle!

The WW2 liberty ship hatch cover nautical coffee tables are restored from the wooden hatch cover of a U.S. Navy liberty ship which was used by the merchant marine during WWII.
These Liberty Ships were the mainstay in sending cargo and troops to all four corners of the world during the second world war.
The rate and speed of their production needed to be faster than the German submarines could sink them, so their was a very high attrition rate.
The wooden hatch cover tables offered at the Pirates Lair came from the Liberty Ships which survived the war.
This hatch cover coffee table is also a great waterfront home nautical coffee table as a great gift idea for men, women, the merchant marine officer or Navy sailor.
