The WW2 liberty ship hatch cover tables, nautical coffee tables, nautical tables are restored from the wooden hatch covers of a U.S. Navy liberty ship which was used by the merchant marine during WWII.
These Liberty Ships were the mainstay in sending cargo and troops to all four corners of the world during the second world war.
The rate and speed of their production needed to be faster than the German submarines could sink them, so their was a very high attrition rate.
The wooden hatch cover tables offered at the Pirates Lair came from the Liberty Ships which survived the war.
