Liberty Ship Hatch Cover Nautical Coffee Table #42: This authentic WWII Liberty Ship Wooden Hatch Cover is unique in that it is made of 2 large and wide pine planks instead of the more traditional 3 planks. It is in exceptional condition, lightly sanded and restored in a dark stain with the tradtional metal bands and scoops with recessed handles on each end. It comes with or without the trestle, customer choice!

The WW2 liberty ship hatch cover table is restored from the wooden hatch cover of a U.S. Navy liberty ship which was used by the merchant marine during WWII.
These Liberty Ships were the mainstay in sending cargo and troops to all four corners of the world during the second world war.
The rate and speed of their production needed to be faster than the German submarines could sink them, so their was a very high attrition rate.
The wooden hatch cover tables offered at the Pirates Lair came from the Liberty Ships which survived the war.
