36"L x 21"D x 25"H A beautiful and huge restored dome top trunk for any contemporary home or large room outfitted in a 19th century decor. Lots of character to this trunk. The Victorian Lithographs of Women in Period Dress are absolutely beautiful and perfectly detailed. The compartment doors under the lid and on the liftout tray are constructed of wood, not the regular cardbard found on most trunks. The large compartment lid on the liftout tray is not attached but could possibly be or even put into a frame (which would be our first suggestion)! |

We all romanticize about the mystique of these antique trunks. The possible owners and travels that each steamer trunk has taken, along with the high level of detailed craftsmanship in the original production of each and every steamer trunk with that individualized character giving both intrinsic and non-intrinsic value. |
It was a common practice that loyal and productive craftsmen would be allowed to bring their children to work with them to learn a craft, so many of the children in this photograph were more than likely sons of the men shown. |
