VERY RARE! Pre-WWII British Royal Marines Mess Bowl with British Lion over Royal Crown and Latin Motto "Per Mare, Per Terram" or By Land, By Sea and Produced by Copeland SPODE in 1938.
PERFECT Gift for a current or former member of the Royal Marines or for a Collector of Marine Militaria!

Of some note, the first time that the British Marine Motto appears to have been used was on their caps during the Battle of Bunkers Hill in 1775.

RARE! Authentic early 20th Century pre-WWII British Royal Marines Mess Bowl
Handsome plain white bowl with blue Royal Marines Insiginia of Lion over Royal Crown and Latin Motto "Per Mare, Per Terram", (By Sea, By Land). Backstamped with "Copeland SPODE" manufacturers mark, Admiralty Anchor denoting Government inspected and proofed, and impressed "38" for 1938 production (possibly in October). PERFECT as gift to a Royal Marine or collector of Marine dinnerware! Worthy of note, the first time that the British Marine Motto appears to have been used was on their caps during the Battle of Bunkers Hill in 1775.
