Above illustrates both obverse and reverse full length photos of the P1858 Pattern British Royal Navy Cutlass Bayonet.
Note the open ring for insertion through the rifles barrel as well as the push in tab to secure the bayonet on the rifle.
Faint in the photograph but clear when handled is the arsenal mark of a Crown over the letter "S" which is above the numberal "8" which indicates by who and where the weapon was made..
Photo above illustrates the P1858 cutlass bayonet with its regulation leather scabbard. Also note the slight beveling of the tip similar to the P1845 cutlass.
