The Naval Cutlass typically has a large and wide hilt which when wanting to mount as a wall display will press up against the wall scratching or marking both wall and/or cutlass. Also, many wall displays and wall brackets themselves are too showy and end up taking away from the focal point which is the cutlass display or sword display.
These Made in USA handcrafted custom made oak wood brackets and walnut wood brackets come in 3 lengths (2.25", 2.75" or 3.75") so as to obtain the best display for your collection and come complete with the mounting screw. While elegant in their own right these wooden wall brackets are made to properly display and present the cutlass or sword in the most simple and advantageous manner possible.

American and U.S. Navy cutlass collection using the TPL custom crafted oak wood wall brackets or wall mounts. Note the simplicity and elegance of the wall mounts yet the focus is on the displayed cutlass and not on the wooden wall brackets!
The above photo illustrates how the TPL Wall Brackets keep the hilt or cup of the naval cutlass away from the wall preventing damage to both.
Above is a photo of an early 18th century cutlass with a wide shell-like hand guard. This cutlass along with the popular M1861 cutlass used by the US Navy during the American Civil War both take the longer 3.75" TPL Wall Bracket.
Above is an illustration of how to select and measure for the proper TPL Wall Bracket for your cutlass. Note that the measurement is from the edge of the Wall Bracket to the "V notch" where the blade of the cutlass or sword will rest in.
The TPL Wall Bracket shown above is the 2.75". Again, measured from the brackets base where it fits against the wall to the "V notch" where the blade sits.
In selecting the right TPL Wall Bracket length for your cutlass first measure the distance between the blade and the hilt or cup of your sword or cutlass. Then select the next longest TPL Wall Bracket which will then keep your cutlass or sword away from the wall.
Easy and simple installation. Decide where you want to display and hang your cutlass. Using a simple screwdriver just screw in one of the supplied drywall screws into the wall leaving about 1/8" of the screw head showing off the wall. Then just slip the wall bracket over the screw head and gently pull down, thereby locking the wall bracket onto the screw and snugly up against the wall. Do the same to the other supplied screw and wall bracket ensuring that the cutlass is level. It really is that simple.
