Above is how one of our naval clients took trunk #251 and turned it into a shadowbox which was used at his retirement ceremony. Note how he used the inside of lid of the flat top to display his unit patches, awards and medals.
We are very honored that he selected us for such an important event in his life, and was kind enough to send us this photo - Thanks Tom!
Nice and Solid, Completely restored all wood Flat Top, working lock no key, with original liftout tray and new 3-ply leather handles. Exterior was originally covered in canvas and interior covered with paper both of which were removed revealing the beatiful 100+ year old pine. Both inside and out were scrubbed with a bleach/water solution, dried, and then hand sanded. Hardware was lightly sanded and wire brushed. Of note are the original bottom leather straps with buckles which were able to be saved, and saw impressions on wood planks from the original rough cut at the saw mill!! |
