The Russian Navy's and Maritime Border Guards cyrillic monogrammed initials were initially RKKF. In the late 1920's the Maritime Border Guard was then put under the Russian NKVD or Internal Security. Their Navy changed its name in the early 1930s using the monogram RKVMF, and then to VMF in 1946 after WWII to the Soviet Navy which reflected Russia's expanded peasant's and worker's revolution and it's dominion over Eastern Europe which then became known as the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
