Beautifully Restored in Light-Reddish Hue Bringing Out All the Richness of Century Old Wood Grain. Over 100+ Pieces of Unique Hardware All Individually Polished and Detailed To Highlight the Intricate Designs. Original Lift-Out Tray Also Restored! Period correct Working Lock Was Replaced with Key. New Leather Handles and Stays. Inside Was Stripped of the Paper Covering, Then Washed in a Solution and Sanded to Reveal the Beautiful Patina of 100+ Year Old Wood. - #178

Note: Another Rarity! On the inside planks of this Antique Trunk are the circular impressions made by the blade of the saw when the wood was original cut at the saw mill - See Photo's!!!

We all romanticize about the mystique of these antique steamer trunks. The possible owners and travels that each steamer trunk has taken, along with the high level of detailed craftsmanship in the original production of each and every steamer trunk with that individualized character giving both intrinsic and non-intrinsic value.

However the truth of the matter is that the majority of these steamer trunks were made towards the middle to end of the 19th century at the beginning of the industrial revolution here in America when there were no child labor laws or protections. This rare photo clearly illustrates at least 3 generations of owners and workers, ages appearing to range from pre-teen/adolescent, teens/early adult, through middle to old age!

Beautifully Restored in a Rich Light Reddish Brown Hue Bringing Out All of the Character of the Century Old Wood Grain. Curved oak straps on a pine body with 100+ pieces of intricately design hardware individually polished and detailed. Working Lock and Key. New Leather Handles and Original Lift Out Tray! This Steamer Trunk Will Be The Centerpiece and Focal Point of Any Room.

Large Size Monitor/Waterfall Style Steamer Trunk 32.5"L x 20.5"W x 23.5"H
Originally covered in canvas on the outside and paper inside which preserved the pine wood body. Trunk was meticulously scrubbed and hand sanded. There are circular impressions on inside planks made by the blade of the saw when the wood was originally cut at the saw mill. This is a VERY UNIQUE antique trunk from almost any perspective from being an All-Wood Monitor or Waterfall Style, beautifully bended oak straps, to the "Space Saver" constructed lid feature!
