Nautical Domed Sea Chest #1 comes standard with a sturdy metal legal-size hanging folder frame and has a wooden "insert" to hold your stationary and desk accessories, (the insert sits above the hanging folders). This particular sea chest is unique in that it still has its original "oak handles" and working lock. (Most Nautical Sea Trunks either came with leather handles or had their oak handles replaced.) It has all new leather straps in the front and a lock with a key, another unique feature!

So if it's a Master and Commander theme or Pirates of the Carirbbean decor you are seeking for your home, office or as a gift, this is it! The real deal!

These pirate chests/treasure chests are the exact type used by Privateers, Buccaneers, and Pirates to store their treasure and booty! Typically when a Privateer or Pirate attacked and took over a galleon or merchantman transporting gold, silver, other treasures (as well as passengers), they threw out all of the garments, clothes, personal artifacts, and then re-filled them with the items they wished to steal and then hauled the filled chests over to the pirate ship. Unfortunately afterwards the pirates normally sunk the merchant ship if it was unfit for sailing, and killed both crew and passengers! Pirates never bought anything, they stole everything - including their Pirate Treasure Chests!
