Captain's Domed Sea Chest #2 is a large wooden sea chest made of a pine body and oak slats and thick sturdy leather handles. Inside of the Dome top you will find 2 "concealed compartments" for stationary and other office accessories. This nautical chest does not currently have a wooden insert, but one could be easily made as the original wooden "stops" are still intact and could be used to support an insert.

So if it's a Master and Commander theme or Pirates of the Carirbbean decor you are seeking for your home, office or as a gift, this is it! The real deal!

These pirate chests/treasure chests are the exact type used by Buccaneers, Privateers and Pirates to store their treasure and booty! Typically when a Privateer or Pirate attacked and took over a galleon or merchantman transporting gold, silver, other treasures as well as passengers they threw out all of the garments/clothes and filled them with the items they wished to steal and then hauled the filled chests over to the pirate ship. Unfortunately afterwards the pirates normally sunk the merchant ship if it was unfit for sailing, and killed both crew and passengers! Pirates never bought anything, they stole everything - including their Pirate Treasure Chests!
