Exterior originally covered in canvas with interior covered in a thin paper this trunk maker used all heavy duty hardware clamps, hinges, front latches, lid guides, single sheet pine wood, and iron banding to construct this trunk! Replacement leather handles were put on in the distant past using the original end caps. All of the hardware clamps, guides and latches were brass gilt with a brass working lock! | A Mid 19th Century fully restored antique trunks for sale! Both the exterior tooled leather and the interior paper coverings were removed revealing beautiful 100+ year old cured and seasoned pine planks used in the construction of this trunk. Like all Jenny Linds this trunk has the hallmark "Hour Glass" design reminiscent of the Pirate Chests and Treasure Chests seen on TV and in the movies. Per our custom the entire trunk was scubbed, dried and lightly sanded, then stained with a rich mahogany finish, and lastly with a coat of protective spar varnish being applied. |

| Just a nice well-built and sturdy roll top trunk. This fantastic all wood 110-120 Year Old Antique Trunk had an exterior covering of green painted canvas and an interior thin paper covering, both were removed during restoration. Once the coverings were removed they revealed the beautiful 130+ year old cured pine and oak wood! All exterior and interior oak wood slats and pine body were scrubbed, dried, and lightly sanded to reveal the full beauty of the grain and character of the trunk. All the black japanning was carefully removed and hardware polished. Some time in the distant past a U and Hasp replaced the original lock, this was professionally done and just awaits an antique padlock! New front leather handles were installed using the original end caps. |

| RARE All Wood Six (6) Plank Construction! Ca 1870s Fully Restored Solid Dome Top Antique Trunk with 1850-1860 Features of Oak Wood Handles and Oak Wood Half Slats! All hardware including the securing bands and brass headed tacks/nails show depth and character, and have a fantastic dark brown oxidized patina. The pine wood body and oak slats were done in a mahogany finish. Working Lock but no key. Exterior originally covered in leather which was removed along with the interior paper lining, then scrubbed with a bleach/water solution, dried and lightly sanded. The two coats of Spar Varnish were applied to all exterior and interior surfaces. Of significance was the ability to have saved the original and beautifully detailed Victorian Lithograph of a gentleman and a horse in a 19th century large wheeled racing carriage. |

| RARE AND ONE-OF-A-KIND FOR THE ANTIQUE TRADITIONALIST OR PROFESSIONAL HOUSE RESTORER! SIX-POINTED STARS of DAVID in the Interior Paper Design! In over 9 years restoring trunks we have never had another one as well preserved in original condition as this one! We think this trunk was purchased back in the 1870's or 1880's and then put into a dry attic for over 130 years until re-discovered! Everything on this trunk is original. The black japanning used on all metal parts is in a perfect original state and is georgeous. We just lightly sanded the edges of the top lid oak strap clamps to give some contrast and it came out beautiful. All of the oak straps have the light goldish-yellow tone from the original shellac finish put on over a century ago! The pressed tin filigree floral design covering the exterior body is in perfect original condition with absolute zero oxidation to the original gold and black paint - Stunning is the only word! The leather handles are original! Unique front flip lock latches with dated hardware of July 9 1872 Opening the trunk lid shows the absolutely brilliant, sharp and clear, beautiful original Victorian Lithographs on the inside lid and top door covering of the liftout tray! Magnificent with no color loss whatsoever! Most remarkable was the well preserved thin paper lining found on the inside of the trunk and liftout tray which normally in most if not all cases has been so badly aged or stained by moisture it needs to be removed. However due to the extraordinary condition we were able to seal and save all of this inside paper which has a dark goldish yellow color with darker gold "Six-Pointed Stars of David" as the design! Perfect for someone with a Jewish Heritage! |

The Victorian Lithographs and designs on the inside lid and top of the liftout tray were treated with a special sealer to preserve the original integrity of the colors. The entire interior and exterior of the trunk was then applied with spar varnish to both seal and preserve both the wood, metal, cardboard sections and paper. |
