| This Antique Steamer Trunk is One of the MOST Well Built Heavy-duty Yet Handsome Trunks We've Restored. The original trunk maker "Crouch & Fitzgerald" who had 4 locations in New York City took great pride in their trunks as seen in their craftsmanship, upgraded materials used, "C & F NY" maker marks on the casted iron hardware, and maker labels. Originally covered in a thick canvas and high-end inside paper covering both of which were removed, wood scrubbed, lightly sanded, with a light honey stain applied to the pine body and darker stain on the oak straps. The Hardware was very lightly sanded where needed, black japanning carefully removed on the nail heads and the "C & F" and "NY" monograms for contrast highlighting, and then two coats of spar varnish were applied inside and out. The male half of the lock was taken off years ago, but we were able to remove the grit and japanning which revealed the brass. We were also able to save the Original Leather Document Pouch and Maker Label on inside lid. Saved and reinstalled the Original "C & F NY" Monogrammed End Caps and with new thick leather handles. New, handcrafted large lift out tray was made. |

An exceptionally well-made and heavy antique trunk yet not losing its elegance. Just too many high-end craftsmanship details to mention such as load bearing nails/rivets having brass-coated washers to significantly increase the sturdiness, upgraded extra thick pine planks without knots, specially made lid stay to ensure keeping the lid open, heavy duty cast iron "C & F" and "NY" monogrammed hardware throughout. This trunk is VERY heavy for its size due to the upgraded and thicker than usual pine planking, casted iron and steel hardware used in the original manufacturing. |

| Restored green and gold pressed tin metal and wood antique trunk with handcrafted lift out tray. This trunk was originally restored decades and decades ago and the previous restorers used a dark green and gold finish on the pressed tin floral design similar to the original. The metal hardware securing the oak straps was also done at that time in a dark brass/gold finish, again staying true to form of the original. With the exception of some light sanding and touch ups we have kept this matching green and gold tone thoughout since it was in excellent condition. No working lock. The trunk and wood grain in general is of a dark patina, with both the exterior and interior have 3 coats of restorative spar varnish applied. |

| Affordable, Nice and Tight, Solid Antique All Wood Flat Top Trunk. Originally covered in canvas on the exterior and paper on the interior which when removed with a cleaning solution and then lightly sanded revealed the beautiful patina of 100+ year old wood! The outside heavy duty hardware was lightly sanded but still retaining much of the original black japanning used as a preservative in the 19th century. Two coats of Spar Varnish was applied for UV protection, wood preservation and hard surface sealer. The two front lid latches in perfect condition with built-in lid lifts! We believe the leather handles are original to the trunk and are in excellent usable condition. The front male half of the lock is missing. A heavy duty handcrafted liftout tray. On the outside of the trunk was nailed a handwritten cardboard shipping label which will be included: Mr. Logan Page, West Brook, Conn. On the back is written Kayser, Thead Silk Hosiery. |

| RARE! STUNNING! We only get one or two of these HUGE high-end Dome Tops every few years! Exterior was originally covered in leather with LOTs of great dated hardware both of which makes this a high-end trunk back in the day it was manufactured. The interior was originally covered in paper. Both were removed which revealed a fantastic grain of the pine wood body and oak wood slats. All of the outside hardware was meticulously sanded of the black japanning which covered it, and then polished resulting in a beautiful gun metal gray revealing all of the intricacies and detail -including the patent date of Oct 23, 1877!! The wood was then stained a Red Oak using Miniwax so as to bring out and contrast with the fantastic hardware. A black oak stain was applied to the sheet metal to again contrast with the hardware and wood, but also provide a translucence. The interior and exterior was then applied with two coats of protective Spar Varnish for UV protection, wood preservation and hard surface sealer. The original heavy duty metal end caps were left and refitted with new leather handles. A handcrafted liftout tray was made. There are one or two pieces of hardware missing and repairs made over the years this trunk saw service. A period male half of the lock was installed as the original was missing. This trunk is not an "every day user" but an excellent accent piece and a show stopper centerpiece for any room and has huge storage capacity. |

| Beautifully restored all metal and wood Dome Top steamer trunk. Exterior of this 100+ year old antique trunk is of original pressed tin in a floral filigree design restored in a blue-silver finish. Exterior hardware and oak straps had their thick black japanning removed then completely scrubbed and lightly sanded with a dark translucent stain applied to the hardware. Interior paper was removed with the wood then being scrubbed and sanded. | This was a high end trunk made for rough transportation and lots of use. Exterior was originally covered in canvas and the interior covered in paper which were both removed to reveal the beautiful patina of 100+ year old pine. Lots of hardware on this one from the heavy duty latches with lid lifts, lid guides, wood protectors along the oak straps, edge protectors, and ornate corner clamps. The trunk is also leather trimmed along the edges and had heavy duty leather straps with the bottom half with buckle being restored. | RARE! This trunk shows positive proof that the antique steamer trunks were originally made from wood scraps and crafted by apprentices! Beautifully restored all metal and wood Dome Top Dome Top with Original Surviving Unique Green Cloisonne Finish. Exterior of this 100+ year old antique trunk is of original sheet metal tin with a green cloisonne finish! Exterior hardware has lightly sanded to remove the black japanning revealing intricate designs. The oak straps and tin finishes were left as originally crafted over 100 years ago! nd oak straps had their thick black japanning removed then completely scrubbed and lightly sanded with a dark translucent stain applied to the hardware. The interior paper was removed with the wood then being scrubbed and sanded. Once the paper was removed we found that the pine planks were made from old crates with black and red stencils! It appears that at least 4 different crates were used to make the body of this trunk! Over the years many of us antique trunk restorers have found that these trunks were originally made just from scraps of wood which were given to entry level apprentices to make these trunks and learn the wood-working craft! This is proof positive that this assumption is correct. First Ever! Two coats of spar varnish were applied to both interior and exterior surfaces so as to provide UV and wood treatment protection which also allows the natural patina and character of the wood grain and metal surfaces to show. | All Wood Flat Top Antique Trunk restored in a Rich Cherry Finish, Translucent Blackened Sheet Metal and Contrasting Red Mahogany Rubbed Latches with Built-in Lid Lifts, Lock, Lock Plate, and Securing Hardware for the Oak Straps! The Exterior was Originally Covered in Canvas while the interior was covered in paper. Both were removed then the revealed 100+ year old wood was scrubbed, sanded, stained and two coats of satin spar varnish were applied. The spar varnish is a preservative to both the wood and metal hardware as well as providing UV protection from sunlit rooms. New leather handles and dark brass end caps, new handcrafted lift out tray, working lock AND key! |

| A fantastic Large All Metal Wood Dome Top antique trunk restored in a dark red mahogany/plum exterior finish. Intricately detailed dated hardware (Oct 1 1877) is cast iron! Unique roller wheel hardware. Interior paper was removed, Victorian Lithographics which were saved along with the Green Document and Passport Pouch, and TWO hidden lid compartments this trunk was made for someone well heeled and is heavy! Interior wood refinished in natural state. New Leather handles, a custom made handcrafted lift out tray, and dated hardware October 1, 1877. |

| A fantastic large-size antique trunk originally manufactured in the 1850-1860's style with minimal hardware, uncapped oak straps and rosette fasteners, restored in a natural pine finish. The exterior leather has been removed as well as the interior paper covering to reveal the 150 year old wood beneath, which was then scrubbed and interior sanded. There is alot of character to this trunk with the unique wood grain, and due to its authenticity it was "rescued" from being used in Civil War re-enactments here in Virginia! New leather handles and caps replaced the old worn out leather. Working lock but no key, new handcrafted liftout tray, and dated hardware, November 30, 1869 and original manufacturer label (F. Carlton, NY, NY) located in the lid make this a sought after trunk. #217 |

| Rare! THREE Stackable Lift-out Trays and Leather Trim! Beautifully restored, WM Lorenz marker-mark on both outside and inside. Trunk has original wood grain, no stain only 3 coats of spar varnish applied. This unique trunk had 3 lift out trays for easier access to packed contents, with the top tray having a special hook mechanism to hold it in the lid. Note the special brass nail caps/studs on the top and front. This trunk has the original leather handles that are in perfect shape as well as the original lift out tray. New leather handles with original unique handle end caps. There have only been 3 coats of spar varnish applied to preserve and protect. A unqiue, nice and solid, tight trunk which would be perfect as a coffee table. Originally covered in canvas with remnants saved for the new owner. All exterior canvas and interior paper coverings were removed, trunk scrubbed and sanded. Two of the lift out trays are original and a third needed to be replaced with a new handcrafted tray. |

| A beautiful light finished all wood low profile antique trunk with leather trim along the edges! The exterior was originally covered in canvas and the interior covered with paper. When these coverings were removed, wood scrubbed and sanded it revealed a beautiful light blonde patina that only 100+ year old wood can achieve! Hardware was given a light sanding and polishing to removed the japaned coating and then left in its natural gun metal gray patina. The leather trim was treated to bring out its luster.
